Many people want more power from God and want to be able to do signs and wonders, but they are not prepared to work hard and are not really interested in giving their entire lives to Jesus. If you really want to increase your anointing and want to give your whole life for it, this article is for you.

One day I was in a new age bookstore looking at books on spells and witchcraft and thinking about buying one. This was 17 years ago. Jesus said to my heart. “Get out of here and don’t buy a book. You think you’re doing research so you can better talk to witches, but you want to cross over and move into their power because you’re sick of waiting for my power.”

One thing you can say about Jesus is that when he makes a point it doesn’t make much sense in an argument. I tried to tell him that he was wrong and yet how dumb is that? Telling Jesus that he was wrong.

7 years ago I was looking for the power of the anointing. Today I own it to a small extent. Not as much as people on the world stage, but much more so than the average Christian who worships on Sundays. If I had to summarize what I did to get here to a few points, this is what they are

Being set apart for God

There isn’t much teaching on this, or if there is much teaching, I just don’t seem to see it on my travels.

To be set apart for God, you must have a purpose, a destiny, and a vision, even though all three may seem like the same thing.

Your whole life has to be focused on doing God’s will for your life.

Many people stop here because they don’t know their purpose on earth and God’s will for their lives, so it’s hard to focus on something they don’t know.

God’s will for your life is often what you would like to do for God. If you are wondering if time and money are not barriers or training is not a barrier what would you like to do for God.

All my life I wanted to be a preacher.

I have only preached 3 times from a pulpit and I am 43 years old. I’ve wanted to do this for 29 years and all I have to show for it is over 600 articles/sermons and 400 YouTube videos. You can see that I have done a lot and yet I am still not doing what I was meant to do to my fullest ability.

Once you figure out what you want to do for God, you need to take baby steps to do it.

Writing my first article was a small step. Finishing 200 was a bigger step and passing the 600 mark was getting bigger. Getting a video camera and making my first video was a bigger step and then doing more and more was a bigger step.

I did ten 1 hour teachings and put them on DVD and watched them and was amazed at the power with which the Holy Spirit spoke through me.

When you figure out what you need to do, when you know the first step, you need to do it.

Second, a good way to be set apart is to spend time doing things that have more to do with God and His will in your life and less time doing things that are ungodly. This may mean stopping the amount of television you watch, watching less DVDs, and reading fewer newspapers and magazines that are full of things we don’t need to know.

Spend time in the Word of God, in books that will equip you to do God’s will in your life, and by watching uplifting videos on YouTube that will equip you, it is possible to spend many hours learning about God and his purposes.

Another way to be set apart for God is to be set apart with our money. Finding a way to spend 10 or 20% or more of our income on good things for the Kingdom of God that go toward good things and not prosperity masters is a good way to set yourself apart.

Obey the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit wants to direct us all. If you can’t hear the Holy Spirit, that can be fixed by going back and doing the last thing you think God told you to do that you didn’t do. When you obey that last direction, you will get the next one.

Being set apart for God and living your purpose can only be done well if you can listen to the Holy Spirit. Make sure you obey as through obedience to Christ you will grow from the slave Master relationship with Jesus to a point where you are a friend of God and He is directing you and giving you a measure of His power and anointing.

God wants to be able to trust you with His power and anointing. For this power and anointing to fall on you, therefore, you must be and be:

– Know your purpose

– Know every step that the Holy Spirit is giving you and doing it.

– Be interested only in serving God and not the world or your own passions.

– Be trustworthy with royal power

– Have a good record of doing what God tells you to do.

PS A very important key ingredient to a strong anointing that no one likes to do is time spent in prayer. Until you love the Lord enough to spend a lot of time with Him, you will not walk in strong power.
