What a job means to me

Some people have different definitions of a job, but this is mine. A job to me is something you do because you need the money. Some may call it work, some may call it life. Most people need money and that means those people need jobs to get it. Now most of the jobs you get aren’t always fun and probably won’t be for most of them. That is until you get the experience to change the ways you work and earn money, like go to college or take up the kind of work you’d like to do.

I always thought that if you could find a job that makes money and is what you like to do, it would improve your life and make you a happy person. Doing this can be difficult because there are so many job opportunities, but let’s face it, not all of them are going to be your piece of heaven. We all start somewhere until we can earn that slice.

How can you achieve happiness in the work you do? Try to find your passion. Find a way to turn this passion into a business opportunity. Think about what motivates you, whether it’s money, having fun, spending time with your family, etc. Start small, perhaps a home business. Example, let’s say your passion is art. Try selling art from your home through local advertising or a website. Maybe you love pets. Try doing an in-home pet sitting service. These are all just small examples of what you can do to turn your passion into a lifelong career.

So my main goal and focus for me is simple. I want to turn my hobbies and passion of blogging and computers into my lifelong career. Working in a store as a sales associate is not really what I want to do all my life. I figure the more hard work I put into my new goal, the faster I’ll achieve it and be happy.
