The Chronicles of Madness – Episode 28

In our Madness Chronicles Episode 28, we’ll take a look at the madness of misunderstanding. Remember, insanity is a state of severe mental illness, extremely foolish behavior, and a state of frenzied or chaotic activity. Let’s take a look at our current craziness after the last Presidential Debate.

Last Friday morning, following Thursday night’s Presidential Debate, America witnessed the extent to which our education has fallen into the trenches of despair. President Trump, responding to a question, said: “Kids are brought here by coyotes and a lot of bad people, cartels, and they bring them here, and they used to use them to get into our country.”

In response, his opponent, Joe Biden, said, “These 500+ kids came with their parents…the coyotes didn’t bring them,” says Joe Biden, responding to President Trump. “It makes us a laughing stock and violates every notion of who we are as a nation.” And the United States listened and responded.

Twitter reads like the night sky on the 4th of July. An anonymous tweet read: “How the hell does a coyote bring a complete human being across the border? A tweet from Karlous said: “Since when did coyotes start bringing children here?” What did he say? Then the Fraser actress Peri Gilpin Tweeted: “Are children brought here by coyotes?” Umm? PR News Online’s Nicole Schumann wrote: “What does ‘children are brought here by coyotes’ mean? Actually?

Oh it gets better. Someone on Twitter named CEOHarvey tweeted: “Coyotes here buy kids” – WTF, DONALD TRUMP. Tennessee Titans fullback Khari Blasingame responded, “I thought he was tripping when I heard that.” Are these adults? Then there was actor/producer Sendhil Ramamurthy, who tweeted: “Damn coyotes are way smarter and more capable than I ever gave them credit for. I apologize for underestimating them.”

Politicians also intervened. Georgia state representative Dar’ shun Kendrick said: “@realDonaldTrump just said that 545 children for whom they can’t find their parents came via ‘cartels and coyotes’? How the hell does a coyote bring to a complete human being on the other side of the border?! Sir, stop talking,” and another professional soccer player chimed in as well. Cleveland Browns star Eric Metcalf, “Did the kids come to America on coyotes?! Am I missing something?” Sounds like you’re missing something, Eric.

We have saved the best for last. These two tweets propel us to new lows in social ignorance. Natalie Campisi of Forbes magazine (let that settle) said, “I’ve seen a lot of coyotes here in SoCal, but I’ve never seen one carrying a child.” It is said that she later deleted her tweet. Smartmove, Natalia.

You may remember the name, David Hogg. He became famous after a Florida school shooting when the left paraded him singing his anti-gun song. David, who now attends Harvard University, tweeted: “Imagine calling immigrant parents who bring their children to the United States for a better life ‘Coyotes.’ The level of xenophobia is sickening.” You know what’s more disgusting, David? Ignorance runs through our American society in 2020.

The greatest achievement on the coyote crisis comes from USA Today. They felt the need to clarify the matter in a comprehensive article. Its headline says, Fact check: Trump did not mean that actual ‘coyotes’ took the children across the border. If you need more proof of our descent into ignorance, keep reading USA Today.

Just for the record, a ‘coyote’ is a common term among border patrol agents and politicians regarding smugglers on the southern border.

May we wake up from this madness before it’s too late. I wish you good health and until next time, have fun, enjoy life and beware of the madness among us. It’s 2020 and it’s getting out of hand.
