Thalía – The queen of soap operas

Born on August 26, 1971, Ariadna Thalía Sodi Miranda or popularly known as Thalía is a famous Mexican singer and actress. Her name is associated with the soap operas that made her famous throughout the world. In fact, her telenovela alone has been reported to have reached more than two billion viewers from 180 different countries, a record that earned her the nickname “La Reina de las Telenovelas.” She starred in numerous soap operas such as “María Mercedes”, “Rosalinda” and “Marimar”, among others.

Thalía has toured five different continents, making her one of the most popular Latin singers in human history. She has also received numerous acting and singing awards and has a total of 25 million copies of albums sold worldwide. Indeed, Thalía is the singer and actress who gave so much pride to the Mexican flag.

Thalía was born in Mexico City and came from a prominent family. Her father Ernesto Sodi Pallares is a doctor in pathology, a scientist, a writer and a criminologist. On the other hand, her mother, Yolanda Miranda Mange, is a painter and she was her manager from 1980 to 1999. She is the youngest of a brood of four sisters: Laura, Ernestina, Gabriela and Federica.

Aside from her beauty, Thalía also did well in her studies and attended the prestigious Elycio Francee Mexican. At that school, Thalía became bilingual because the school follows a French-Spanish curriculum. According to Thalía herself, if she did not enter show business, she would be a psychologist or biologist. On December 2, 2000, she married Tommy Mottola, a music mogul. On October 7, 2007, she Thalía became a first-time mother by giving birth to Sabrina Sakaë Mottola Sodi. She and her husband along with her son now live in New York City.
