Politics and Christianity

Revelation 20:1-20:10

Politics and Christianity: There have been many articles about the past elections. Some praising Christians and others condemning them. As for me being a Minister, I am disappointed on both sides.

Politics has no place in the Church. Jesus would not have voted for either of them. 2Ti 2:4 No one who fights is entangled in the affairs of this life; to please the one who has chosen him to be a soldier. Our war is with the spirit and not with the flesh. God commands the powers that be. He votes, but don’t get into all the rhetoric, the damage is already done, it’s time to make amends.

Our missions as Christians:

1. Worship God.

2. Preach the Gospel.

3. Be Instant In-Season and Off-Season

4. Search for the lost

If the Church simply did what our Lord commanded, it would not have brought this hatred towards Christians. Politicians talk about peace in the Middle East, but the Christian community should know better. Look at God’s prophecy for the Middle East. Revelation 20:1-10

Revelation 20:1-10 And I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

And he seized the dragon, the ancient serpent, which is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years,

and throw him into the abyss, and lock him up, and seal him, so that he deceives the nations no more, until the thousand years are fulfilled; and after this it is necessary that he be loosed for a little while.

And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given them; and I saw the souls of those beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and that they had not worshiped the beast, nor his image, nor had they received his mark on their foreheads, nor in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection; the second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with him a thousand years.

And when the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison,

and he will go out to deceive the nations that are on the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, in order to gather them together for battle; the number of which is as the sand of the sea.

And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and surrounded the camp of the saints, and the beloved city; and fire came down from God out of heaven and consumed them.

And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Let me ask you a question now that you have heard these passages from Revelation. Do you really believe that John in the Revelation of Jesus Christ to the Church is True? How many say yes? Raise your hands. So how can we believe any politician who says there is going to be peace in the Middle East?

John said in just these few passages that “And I saw”, John was stating facts, a future presentation of war and destruction in the Middle East.

1. “And I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.”

2. “And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them.” 3. “I saw the souls of those who were beheaded for the testimony of Jesus.” I had a brother, the other day; tell me he doesn’t read the prophecy because he can’t do anything about it. This is a common mistake many Christians make.

Prophecy is just as important as the rest of the Scriptures. Warning after warning from Christ about the imminent destruction of Israel’s enemies, and still many want to ignore the facts of the Bible. Many churches will not even recognize that the Book of Revelations is for our time. Many claim that the Book of Revelations has been fulfilled. Pablo even warned us not to be disappointed in any way. 2Thes 2:1-4 Now, brethren, we beg you for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and for our meeting with him,

May you not be quickly shaken in mind, nor disturbed, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as ours, as the day of Christ is near.

Let no one deceive you in any way; for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of sin, the son of perdition, is revealed;

Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or is the object of worship; so much so that he sits in the temple of God as God, posing as God. We as Christians make mistakes from time to time and as Paul states many times and even Our Lord Jesus said, none of us is perfect, only God himself is perfect. Let’s learn from our mistakes and go out into the world to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

Time is running out and we must all attend to our Father’s business. Luke 2:23 pm And the lord said to the servant, Go into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Our Lord commands us to seek the Lost for the Kingdom of God, and Brothers and Sisters, that is a full time job.

2Co 7:8 Because although I saddened you with a letter, I do not repent, although I repented; because I see that the same epistle has saddened you, even if it was for a while. Now everyone, let’s go about our Father’s business and begin to repair the damage that has been done, learn from our mistakes, repent, carry the load and move on.

James 5:8 You also be patient; affirm your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near.

Lift up your eyes Children, Our Repentance draws near. Here is an article that was published in a local newspaper, I thought it reflects the trend among Christians; Politics should not be preached in church.

In response to the condolences to the Democrats on November 5, 2004, my condolences now go out to your church, or perhaps I should say lack of churches.

I have lived quite a long life as men. I have never heard so much perverted gospel coming from the pulpits. Many have taken the grace of God and turned it into a Republican campaign rally.

When something other than the gospel is preached from the pulpit, it becomes a cult. When someone other than Jesus Christ is preached, he becomes the antichrist. (The word anti in this case means instead of — instead of.) Read I John 2:18. “To all those prophets of Baal, it will be a terrible day when they appear before the great white throne for judgment.”

There is nothing wrong with voting for any candidate of your choice. Over a million US military have been killed in combat so you can have that privilege.

Jesus Christ died for all. I Timothy 4:10 — to suggest that God favors the rich over the poor or whites over blacks or any other discriminatory idea is pure blasphemy.

If you have heard political preaching from your pulpit, I strongly recommend that you change your preacher or your church because that is not a church of the living God. Read 2 Corinthians 11:13-15.

Here’s a little update; Members of the small Baptist Church say their pastor led an effort to oust parishioners who did not support President Bush. Nine members were expelled at a church meeting Monday in this mountain town, about 120 miles west of Charlotte.

“I hate to see the church suffer like this,” he said. “God doesn’t care if you’re a Republican or a Democrat. It just hurts to see that happen.”
