How to Clean Your Betta Fish Vase or Bowl

Today I would like to tell you how to clean your betta fish tank or vase. This method works great if you have marbles, marble-sized rocks, plastic gems, or anything similar as a substrate. NOTE: I do not recommend housing your betta in such a small space.. I recommend that you keep your betta in a 5 or 10 gallon aquarium.

However, I will still tell you how to clean and change the water in these small spaces. In the hope that one day you will, put your friend in a larger tank.

First, you will need the following items on hand to complete the job.

1. A small cup large enough to put your fish in while you clean their bowl or vase. You will also need a lid or cover for the bowl to prevent the fish from jumping out. The cup and lid that you bought the betta house in will work just fine.

2. A bucket of 1 to 5 gallons to put the dirty water of the fish.

3. A small net that you will use to catch your fish in

4. A base of turkey

5. A water conditioner to remove chlorine from your replacement water

6. Replacement water, either tap water that has been sitting for 24 hours or bottled water, will work just fine.

7. Paper towels

THESE ARE THE STEPS TO FOLLOW

Step 1

Move your betta into the small cup filled with water. If there is room to do so, you can dip the cup directly into the bowl or vase and catch the fish right in the cup, or you can fill the cup with some of the bettas running water, fish it out with a net, and add it to the water. Bowl. Don’t forget to add the lid to the cup.

Step 2

Remove all decorations and put them on paper towels. All that should be left in the vase or bowl is the water and the gravel.

Step 3

Using the turkey syringe, squeeze the bulb and place the other end of the syringe into the substrate. Release the syringe bulb and some water will fill the syringe. This drop of water should be full of dirt and debris. Now spray the dirty water into your 1-5 gallon bucket.

Step 4

Continue doing step 3 several times, each time moving the syringe to a different location within the substrate. Withdraw a quarter to a half of the bettas water through the turkey baster and continue to deposit the dirty water from the baster into the bucket.

step 5

Rinse the decorations under warm running water using your fingers or a very soft brush to clean them.

step 6

Replace the decorations and add the water you took out with the bottled or tap water. Add the water conditioner and then gently pour the betta and water back into the cup, back into your vase or bowl.

Step 7

Empty bucket of dirty water into a toilet

You have already cleaned your betta vase or fish tank. Congratulations
