Have you heard Flyers Up 3-1 in the series!

In Montreal, the Canadians would do the complete opposite of what they did in their first game of the series at home, putting on a performance worth forgetting as they get to a 3-1 hole. In Game 3 they went flying with a barrage of 17 shots in the first period of the game while recording 38 in total for the game and took a 5-1 victory.

In today’s game, they only managed to get 17 total shots to Michael Leighton as they could only muster one shot on goal in the second. The result would be a 3-0 loss and a 3-1 series deficit. The Canadians will have their backs against the wall once again, as they did in the previous two series against the No. 1 Washington Capitals and defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins. Those series only lost one game, this time they are down two.

In today’s game, Claude Giroux would open the scoring and finish it in his second of the day, while sailing towards the empty net. Chris Pronger would count an assist on a beautiful pass that launched onto the cross court to catch Ville Leino in stride for a break as he was able to sneak past Jaroslav Halek’s stretched pads for a 2-0 lead on the Flyers. Pronger accumulated minutes and posted a total of 31:07. His time, awareness and playmaking skills were good enough to get him the number one star of the game.

Game 5 will return to Philadelphia, where the Flyers will have a chance to close out the series and head to the Stanley Cup Finals.

One game can make a big difference and the Flyers know that very well. If they lose that penalty shootout in the last game of the regular season against the New York Rangers, they will be watching the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs. If they win one more game, they will be playing in the Stanley Cup Finals!
