Grocery prices, on regulation and quality of food discussed

People are really concerned about the quality of our food and price increases. It costs a lot to feed a family in the United States these days and it’s getting harder to adequately feed them quality food on a middle class budget.

Maybe you’ve noticed grocery prices go up. And of course I too have seen the trend in grocery costs and of course I worry about all processed foods as they provide food but seem not to be so good for the biosystem. Just look at the Americans, overweight, serious problems.

Of course, I would like to point out that it is an option to buy cheaper food and it requires more work, control and cost to eat well. I eat good food and it’s not easy and the cost is significantly higher; fruits, nuts, vegetables, etc. and it is a choice.

Myself, I come from a large farming family and yes, I “get it” and see the different sides of all issues. The over-regulation of family farms, organic producers and shippers is also causing prices to rise all along the food chain and this is passed on to the consumer; you and I.

Having been in the truck washing business and heavy in the steam cleaning, pressure washing business, our customer base is also on all sides of the game and the market. Cleaning grocery stores, corporate facilities, product containers, tractors, equipment, trucks (independent and large), etc. When we talk to all these people, they basically say they’re making less profit and prices to consumers keep going up.

There are quite a few issues around grocery prices, over-regulation, and food quality, and these topics need to be discussed. I certainly hope this article is of interest and has prompted thought. The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007. Thank you for reading my many articles on various topics that interest you.
