Feng Shui Bedroom – The private bathroom

The bedroom is a resting place for the human body; the body sleeps here for at least 7 hours. Therefore, the bedroom has to be a place of peace and rest. The energy should be evenly distributed and flow smoothly throughout the room.

The bedroom is a balance between not having too much energy (yang) or too little energy (yin). A comfortable bedroom is where you always sleep well and feel totally refreshed after sleep. What happens when there is not this balance?

If there is too much energy, the bedroom will become an active area and therefore it will be difficult to sleep. Also, wake up in the middle of the night – interrupted sleep.

If there is too little power, the place would become very quiet and lifeless. The person was sleeping but had difficulty waking up and did not feel rested at all.

the en-suite bathroom

The feng shui masters of yesteryear have always recommended that bathrooms (bathtubs and toilets) be outside the home.

However, we have made progress. The question now is, how do you manage the bathroom in the house, let alone, adjoining the bedroom?

1. Whenever possible, don’t have an en-suite bathroom. Have the door open on the landing instead of the bedroom.

If that is not possible, it will be a matter of managing the flow of energy to the bathroom.

2. Keep the bathroom door closed at all times. This is to minimize the flow of energy from the bedroom to the bathroom.

3. Open the bathroom window where possible and the use of an exhaust fan is recommended.

4. Keep the toilet lid down when flushing. This is to minimize the outflow of energy through the sewer.

5. When draining water from the bathtub or sink, try to keep the bathroom door closed to minimize this flow of energy to the outside.

Conclution: These are simple steps to minimize energy output from the bedroom.

feng shui is a Chinese land management system that developed with the rise of Chinese civilization, more than 40 centuries ago. The system comprises energy flows in the dimensions of time and space. This energy is harnessed to create the living space—homes, buildings, towns, and cities—for people to engage in the appropriate behaviors for better health, wealth, and happiness.
