Considering buying a Balboa baby carrier? I read this first!

Have you ever come across a problem where you have too many things to do but your little one is always in your arms? Do you wish you could hold them and get what you need done? There is a product called Balboa Baby Sling that I am here to tell you about. It was developed, tested, and recommended by Dr. Spears, who is also a pediatric physician. You may be wondering if this product really works, and I’m here to give you my best opinion.

The Balboa Sling is designed to allow you to hold your baby close to you but not completely immobilize them while still helping you perform your various tasks. It does this by the way it’s implied, it’s a sling that wraps around the front of your body, and your baby is gently placed inside, like some kind of nice, comfy ca-coon. That way you have both hands free and can get the job done without having to worry about your little one being in a different room or the dog coming up and sniffing you. They come in a bunch of different sizes and there is an adjustable strap so you don’t have to worry about sizing.

But it works?

This is the important part, of course. In my experience with the sling I have loved it! Although there are other consumers who would not agree and would say that it is uncomfortable. It’s a personal preference on how it feels to you. Performance-wise, it’s great! It allows me to do what I have to do without having to wait an hour before my baby falls asleep, just that she is always with me, which makes me feel more comfortable. However, there are a few things you should be aware of before you buy this, to be specific, some security concerns. With baby carriers in general, 14 deaths have been identified, of which 3 occurred in 2009, and 12 deaths of babies under 4 months. Don’t stop reading yet.

The main reason for these deaths is suffocation. The baby may have part of the sling fabric covering his mouth or nose, preventing him from breathing. Also, the way the head is positioned can push the baby’s chin toward the chest, which can also prevent further ventilation. These are some of the main concerns but if you are careful there is nothing to worry about but it can still make some feel uncomfortable and for them I would not recommend this product. One thing worth mentioning is that the Balboa Sling has not had any reported incidents! Which is always good to hear!

Overall I think this sling is worth it! It helps me do all my errands and allows me to do it with ease. It doesn’t work perfectly in all situations, but it’s great for getting most things done around the house and running errands on the go. If you’re worried about choking incidents and feel it would be difficult to monitor your baby’s position or really apprehensive, I wouldn’t recommend it, but if you know it would help a lot and you can do it, make sure your baby is secure and positioned! Correctly, this may have been the best baby product ever invented! I hope this has helped you! Enjoy!
