What are RTA cabinets?
RTA stands for ready to assemble. This means that the cabinets are delivered with all the necessary components to assemble them into a fully fitted kitchen or bathroom.
This means that the cabinets will be made from the wood that was chosen and the door frames and hardware will be included in the package. Therefore, you do not need to do anything to them to prefer them for installation.
The client could put the hardware on the doors, but then a builder or carpenter would have to install the cabinets on the kitchen or bathroom walls.
The fact that they are ready to assemble means that the builder or carpenter has less to do and therefore it will be cheaper to hire them. Some companies will ship their cabinets unfinished so the customer can paint the wood however they want.
But this means that customers have to paint the wood themselves or hire a painter to do the job. This could mean that the kitchen cabinets will be much more expensive because the customer will have to pay for the wood and will have to pay for a painter.
RTA cabinets are delivered finished and the customer only has to install them. Paint and cabinet design are decided upon prior to cabinet delivery and are all included in the cost of the cabinets.

You will have to decide if this is the right step for you. If you find a cabinet company that supplies RTA cabinets, then you’ll have to see if they have a design and color to suit your needs.
With some companies, you may be able to find some cabinets that are the right wood, but not the right color, or vice versa. In this case, you’d better buy the cabinets unfinished, so you can get exactly what you want.
RTA cabinets are much more cost effective than unfinished cabinets and are easier to install because all the installation features will be included in the process.
For example, holes will be drilled for accessories and all equipment will be included. You will have screws and door hardware included, at no additional cost to you. Obviously, you will have to pay for them, but they will be included in the original price. You won’t have to search the stores for additional nails or accessories. Having everything included in the price will be much more profitable.
