Aquasize your way to washboard abs

One of the most underappreciated ways to reduce your stomach fat, and therefore achieve the washboard abs you covet, is aquasize. The water provides natural resistance, making the pool a great place to do ab exercises to flatten that tummy. Water is also a much lower impact exercise than trying to supplement your workout routine with weights; therefore, you will be able to continue using these techniques much later in life.

Be sure to consult a doctor before trying any new exercise.

The first is called jumping and digging. To begin, stand in the water that is between your belly button and chest. To work your lower body (including your abs), spread your feet a wide distance apart, then jump so your knees hit the surface of the water and come back down. Imagine a frog while you do it; this will help you get the correct form.

Next, to work your upper body, start by scooping both hands across the surface of the water. Bring your hand spoon below the surface, then lift up and to the side. You should try to alternate sides to work the oblique on both sides. Start by doing the two movements separately for three minutes each. Once you’ve mastered the form, do them at the same time to work both sets of stomach muscles at once.

The best part of working out your abs is that, unlike other muscle groups, they don’t require rest. You can use your aquatic exercise some days and more conventional exercises on alternate days, the choice is yours.
