Why should idealism be PRAGMATIC?

When we review pressing issues today with those in the past it often seems that very little progress has been made, probably for a variety of reasons! While some public officials seem unwilling and/or afraid to take a stand, likely because of what they perceive to be a personal/political agenda and/or self-interest, we are also witness to some well-meaning individuals, who are much more, idealists, who seldom achieve anything, because they refuse to seek any meeting of minds, for the greater good, and using a PRAGMATIC focus, in order to get-the-ball-wheel! With that in mind, this article will briefly attempt to consider, examine, review and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why it makes common sense and really matters.

1. priorities; planning/plans; stages; performance; preparation: Whose priorities are met, when those, who consider themselves idealists, refuse to compromise to begin, in a timely manner, to address pressing priorities? How one plans, and how well considered the planning often makes a big difference! We must recognize that almost always achieving the necessary goals requires a mindset that will realize, it will have to be done, in quality phases! The level and thoroughness of the preparation is often directly related to the final performance, etc.

two. Important; trustworthy; responsible/sensitive; realistic: Looking for the best solutions, sustainable needs, etc., needs a realistic approach, etc.! The only responsible course should be responsive actions, but unfortunately partisan politics often interferes with that! We must require elected officials to deliver trustworthy service and representation, in a consistent, relevant and sustainable manner!

3. Attitude; fitness; stocks; attention; articulate: It takes a true, positive, can-do attitude and a well-developed aptitude to take the best actions needed! Great public leaders pay close attention to the big picture and articulate a message, a quest, a meeting of minds, for the greater good!

Four. Goals; greatness; Greater good; generate surplus value: We must elect people, whose goals, emphasize greatness, generate goodwill and unite us, for the greater good!

5. Significant; tick; motivates: Assess elected officials, based on whether they make their mark, for good, motivate us to cooperate and address priorities, and to do so thoroughly and meaningfully!

6. aspirations; assumptions: We will all benefit, when we choose, based on our aspirations, rather than any negative assumptions!

7. Prompt; time tested; together; truth/trust: The only way to gain our trust is by telling the truth! We need to come together, in a well considered and timely way, and learn lessons from the past, in a time tested way!

8. Integrity; inspired; imagination; innovate: Most would be inspired by someone who clearly proceeds with absolute integrity! If that individual proceeded with relevant imagination, and the inner strength, to innovate, he would go far!

9. common sense; character; cooperate/coordinate: Why do elected officials seem to use so little common sense? If we elect individuals, with a better quality of character, who prioritize cooperation, and are able to coordinate efforts, we may, in fact, see some pressing issues finally addressed!

It is all very well to be idealistic, but what is the point if nothing is achieved! Let us commit to choosing idealistic individuals who are also realistic and PRAGMATIC!
