Article writing is a really great way to make money online. When I started I was promoting affiliate programs and I still do. However, the big money is in promoting your own product.

This took me a while to figure out. I first started with resale products and then gradually started developing my own. Just think about it if you are promoting a product that costs twenty dollars and you only get fifty percent commission then you will make ten dollars. Now, if you have your own product, you will easily earn twenty dollars, which is double what you would have originally earned.

The key is to figure out what your target market’s hot button is. I suggest you start building a list and then send them an email asking them.

The other big pitfall is actually creating your own product. I remember this was a very big hurdle to cross. I started by writing articles and submitting them to article directories so I could build a subscription list. Later I could sell my product to this list. I used about fifty percent of this content to create my first eBook. This saved me a lot of time.

The way I market my ebook is I drive all my traffic to a landing page where they can download a free ebook. This allows me to build trust with the visitor as they first get a sample of the professional version of the eBook.

I then follow up with a seven day email course and some promotional emails to sell the ebook.
