Sometimes it takes a town, and as moms and dads, we know this to be true! Entertaining a little one is a big job, so here are some ideas to make that baby smile!

Halloween this year was an opportunity to get a big smile and lots of laughs from our own son. Dad decided to dress up as our son’s favorite live action host – DJ Lance Rock! Our son’s astonished surprise was priceless and made not only him laugh and laugh, but all of us as well.

When raising a child or two or three … we all need to add some lightness to our lives from time to time, remember what it is like to be a child, and enjoy laughter. The funniest part of that Halloween costume was that the next time the show aired, our son looked at the show host, DJ Lance Rock, pointed and said, “Daddy!”

Need simple ways to get your child to laugh, move, dance, and have fun? Well, bring out your inner child and remember that it is the simplest wonders in life that will make your child gasp in wonder and tickle his funny bone.

Here are some easy ways to make your baby laugh!

• Blow bubbles into a glass of water, through a straw.
• Tie two helium balloons to Grandpa’s ears with 12 ″ string and make him move his head.
• Place a suction cup toy on your forehead and speak in a funny voice.
• Make a raisin box whistle. Use an empty box of raisins, at the open end of the mug’s mouth in the airtight opening so that no air is escaping or blowing.
• Pretend to tickle, laugh, and wiggle. Your child will soon try to tickle you and make you laugh. Keep laughing and moving

Remember that with everything you do, look at it through the eyes of a child. What makes it new, unique, potentially fun? I have found that simply reacting in a big way to many of my son’s antics often makes him laugh and of course making silly sounds with almost everything I do always makes him happy and wanting to make those sounds. too. Now, I just need to be aware not to make those silly sounds when my son is not around, people tend to look at me weird.
