When you think of dog pounds, you think of a lot of unwanted dogs, stray, unruly animals, who will be there for a week or two until pound policy states that it is time to kill the animal. Local media, movies, and even cartoons show a similar take on the dark and gloomy Dog Pound, usually made up of thugs whose mission is to find and get rid of all the animals. The problem with that is that that is not really the case. There is a lot of time, energy and care behind a kennel, and the fact that it is run by the local city does not make it any different than being run by volunteers.

Many dog ​​cages house unwanted animals. Most kennel dogs are simply looking for loving owners. The stigma that everyone is evil is simply not true. Many of them work with local shelters to make sure the dogs have a place to call home. Dogs spay and neuter dogs and help those looking to adopt a new member for their family, from making sure the dog is suitable for the family, to making sure the new family is suitable for the dog.
