How do leaders COORDINATE actions?

After writing thousands of articles, a book, and thousands of seminars, and conducting training programs on what effective leadership planning requires, etc., as well as having served, as a leader, personally, for a variety of organizations (with different purposes, scopes, inheritances, sizes, etc.), I have come to firmly believe that one of the most essential duties and responsibilities of a real, meaningful and effective leader is TO COORDINATE activities, in order to achieve a meeting of minds, for the common good! With that in mind, this article will briefly attempt to consider, examine, review and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why it is such an important and essential consideration and leadership asset.

1. Character; to create; clarity; cooperative: Polarizing, adversary-centered individuals will never be true, quality, and effective leaders! It is important for them to continue, with the quality of character, combined with the ability to create, the best set of circumstances, to carry their groups forward! Focus and emphasis should be on cooperative emphasis and articulating a message, focused on the highest degree of clarity!

2. Options; opportunities: Is it my way, or the highway It should never be the attitude of the one who wants to lead! Rather, a real leader must consider, with an open mind, various options and alternatives, and seize the best opportunities!

3. Organized: Getting things done becomes simpler when a leader proceeds, with an organized and focused plan, based on what is needed, what is necessary, and a priority!

Four. Relevant; trustworthy; sensitive: What good is it if you refuse to face the facts and provide relevant leadership? We need leaders who are trustworthy and responsive to the needs, priorities, challenges, and perceptions of their organization and stakeholders!

5. Dig deep; deliver: Never assume you have all the answers or make decisions, unless you dig deep and discover the best course of action to take! It is not enough to think about it, or blame and complain, but true leaders proceed, to keep their promises, for the common good!

6. Imagination; innovate; ideas; to get better: Why do so few seem ready, willing and able to proceed, with a well-developed imagination, and with the knowledge and understanding, to tackle the challenges, with well-considered and timely innovation? Real leadership means introducing the necessary ideas, focused on making things better, for everyone!

7. Needs: Leadership really must focus on the needs, goals, priorities, and perceptions of the organization and its stakeholders!

8. Action plan; attitude; fitness; attention: A positive, can-do attitude, combined with a relevant and well-developed attitude and skill set, should be the driving force behind developing a sustainable, relevant and worthwhile action plan. You have to pay close attention to the best paths to follow!

9. Time tested; timely: When one moves forward with a time-tested strategic and action plan, while addressing timely needs and obstacles, an organizer is better served and represented!

10. Empathy; emphasis; endurance; Excellence: Listening effectively and learning from every conversation and experience is a primary need, to proceed with the best and genuine empathy. This should lead us to where to put your emphasis! This may not be easy, but when one proceeds with a combination of endurance and excellence, a true leader is born!

Real leaders TO COORDINATE others! Are you up to the task?
